A not-for-credit course, offered through the Marlboro College Graduate Center, providing an introduction to Dreamweaver for those with no background in website design or management.Introduction to Dreamweaver0 credits DescriptionAn introduction to Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, focusing on basic concepts like site management, basic site layout, template customization, and general comprehension of CSS and HTML, the languages used to develop a website. Intended Audience and RationaleCommunity audience, largely business owners wishing to build or maintain their own websites. Prior experience with Dreamweaver and/or HTML is not required. Goals

Instructional ProceduresCourse will meet Monday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 PM for instruction, 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM for lab time. Course meetings will be held on: (Jen is away on November 5 at a conference; however, the Grad Center will be open for lab time if students wish to attend.) PrerequisitesNone. Instructional ResourcesBooks and software are discussed separately. You may want to purchase a thumb drive/flash drive/dork stick for storing and transporting your files. 50 MB of space should be more than enough. About the InstructorJen Kramer McKibben is the founder of Focused Consulting LLC. She specializes in web site design focused on the clients' needs and spoken in language they understand. For nearly seven years, she has worked to develop sites that are functional, usable, accessible, and supportive of business and marketing goals. Her services include marketing and strategy, maintenance and redesigns for small to medium corporations, non-profits, and educational institutions. Web design technology is constantly changing and evolving and Jen is committed to keeping pace. Not only does she learn for herself, she offers instruction at the Marlboro College Graduate Center to current and future web designers at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She also serves as the Program Director for the Master's of Science in Information Technologies (MSIT) program. She has previously taught at Champlain College and the Community College of Vermont. She is also the manager for the New England Adobe User Group. Jen earned a BS in biology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS in Internet Strategy Management at the Marlboro College Graduate Center. She is most recently a Dreamweaver 8 Certified Developer. |
